We haven’t had a proper winter so far, and we’re somewhat anxious about what February will bring us. Many trees and bushes have started growing, the little leaves of the elder trees are properly visible.
Still, “use what you have” – and if it’s nice weather, then that’s what we have to adjust to. A good opportunity to find the little representatives of the hazel hedge among the tall grass leftovers from last summer. We managed to get a good amount of straw-manure mixture from a goat farm. The bushes get a thick layer of mulch, which will help keep the moisture in the soil, while seeping the nutrients to the roots as the rains rinse the mulch.
